On January 12th, 2018 began the sixth edition of the Master in Classical Guitar Performance, University of Alicante.
As is tradition, the first act is to visit the campus where a planning meeting and a welcome meal take place.
The opening ceremony was attended by many personalities led by the Vice President for Studies Planning, Training Actions & Quality Standards of the University of Alicante, Enrique Herreros, representative culture of the Provincial Council of Alicante María José Argudo, councilor of the City of Alicante Sofía Morales, master director Óscar Santacreu and academic director and president of Spanish Guitar Foundation, Ignacio Rodes. As well as numerous public supporters of the Alicante Classical Guitar Project.
During the opening ceremony the Banco Sabadell Foundation granted two scholarships of 6,000 euros each one to Spanish students Eduardo Jiménez Cordón and Samuel Mateos Gallego. Manuel Villalgordo regional director of Banco Sabadell in Alicante delivered the scholarships on behalf of Banco Sabadell Foundation.
At the end of the opening ceremony, alumni of the Guitar Master gave a guitar recital as welcome to the new students. Riccardo Guella (2015) and Joe Ott (2017).
